Eugenics

Eugenics

Who: basically all humans
What: Eugenics is the social movement claiming to improve the genetic features of human populations through selective breading and sterilization.
Where: This is happening mostly in more developed countries
When:Eugenics was practiced in the US many years before the programs in Nazi Germany.
Why: The idea of Eugenics is trying to create a basically perfect human race that has advantages over other nations. Kind of like Hitler's idea of the Aryan race of perfect blue eyed and blonde hair kids who were harder, better, faster, and stronger than all other races.

Malcolm X

Who: Malcolm X
What: Malcolm X was  an American Muslim minister and a human rights activist
Where: Malcolm was born in Omaha, Nebraska and died in New York City, New York
When: He was born on May 19, 1925 and died on February 21, 1965 at age 39. He died because of an assassination
Why: He wanted to bring equality to America for all races, black and white.

Who: Common core involves students of all grades and teachers and parents
What: common core is a set of standards that students are expected to meet by teaching the same thing
Where: Common core is taking place in California
When: Common core has only recently been in use for a few years
Why: Common core is used because people believe that it will help students become better academically and will all be able to do well at the same time.

Frank Sinatra

Who? Frank Sinatra.

What?Frank Sinatra was a famous singer, actor, director, and producer.

When? Frank Sinatra was born in 1915 and died in 1998 of a heart attack. His was active from 1935 to 1995.

Where? Frank was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and died in Las Angeles

Why? Sinatra is such a huge person in the 1900's because he was so talented. American music critic Robert Christgau called him "the greatest singer of the 20th century" because of his talents. He was so popular in fact that only certain artists and groups such as Michael Jackson and the Beatles have gained popularity as close as to Frank.
